Biden Criticized Over Claim About Assault Weapons Following Shooting

President Joe Biden is being criticized by Twitter users for making a claim about assault weapons following a shooting at Michigan State University.

While delivering remarks on Tuesday, Biden said, “I want to take a moment to say our hearts are with the students and families of Michigan State University.”

He acknowledged three lives were lost while five others were injured.

Biden stressed something has to be done to put a stop to gun violence.

The unpopular president then went on to make a claim about assault weapons.

“I’m gonna say something that’s always controversial but there is no rationale for assault weapons and magazines that hold 50, 70 bullets,” he said.

Podcast host Graham Allen reacted, saying, “Biden using the MSU tragedy as a way to strip away the rights of Americans is completely ABHORRENT. He should be ashamed of himself.”

Another user wrote, “Well that’s not the type of weapon that was used in this shooting whatsoever, but those are small details.”
